Thomas Doan (“George in ’84,” “Delight,” and “Travel Weary”) graduated from Ohio University with a B.A. in English. There, Doan participated
in several creative writing classes and workshops with a concentration in poetry. Doan’s interests range from Shakespearean sonnets
to modernist poetry, with E.E. Cummings, T.S. Eliot, and Robert Frost counted among his greatest influences. Doan’s poetry relies
more on emotional substance, imagery, and rhythm than conventional rhyming patterns.
Jim Greenwald (“Escape”) lives in Bedford County,
Pennsylvania. A graduate of Saint Francis University, Greenwald has been writing for several years and has been published in several
anthologies and magazines, including Café del Sol, Stellar Showcase Journal, Because We Write, illogical muse, CC&D, fe and Poets
Haven.
James Reiss (“Maria,” “Tryst,” “Ellen Remembers,” “Door County,” and “Fiddler”) is a Professor of English at Miami University
and Founding Editor of Miami University Press. Reiss’s latest book is Riff on Six: New and Selected Poems (Salt Publishing, 2003).
In 2008 Rager Media will bring out his debut novel, Façade for a Penny Arcade. His work has been published in such places as The Atlantic
Monthly, Esquire, The Nation, The New Republic, The New Yorker, The Paris Review, and Slate. Reiss divides his time between lucidity
and Ohio.
Dawn Thompson (“Salvation of the Snakes”) received her Bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis on Creative Writing
nonfiction from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. She has been writing nonfiction for the past few years but enjoys writing
poetry as well. Thompson currently works as an assistant editor for McGraw-Hill in Columbus, Ohio.
J.D. Tuccille (“An Angry Man” and
“The Clocks”) has authored columns on hotly debated topics such as the environment, business regulation and the war on drugs that
have appeared in publications including The Arizona Republic, The Denver Post, The Providence Journal and The Washington Times. The
former editor of a popular civil libertarian website, Tuccille has appeared on Court TV and numerous radio shows to comment on current
issues, and has been quoted saying unkind things about government policies in the pages of The New York Times, Salon and other publications.
An enthusiastic explorer of the American Southwest, Tuccille lives in northern Arizona with his wife Wendy and their son Anthony.
